The leaves are changing, temperatures are dropping and there are pumpkin patches to be visited! That can only mean one thing, fall is among us. Today my family and I spent the afternoon at a lovely farm pumpkin patch.

One of my family’s favorite snack I bake up on the evening of ” pumpkin patch day” is pumpkin seeds. After they gut their pumpkins I go around collecting the seeds. I make a couple variations, but these particular ones are, ” Spicy Sesame Pumpkin Seeds”.

Give them a try!


1 1/2 cups of pumpkin seeds

2 Tbsp of sesame seed oil

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp brown sugar

1 Tbsp pumpkin spice


Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix pumpkin spice and sugar.

Mix sesame seed oil, salt and cayenne pepper, set aside.

Place pumpkin seeds in a large bowl and pour pumpkin spice mixture and sugar mixture over seeds; toss to evenly coat. Spread coated seeds in a single layer onto a baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally, until seeds are lightly browned, about 40 minutes. Remove baking sheet from oven; sprinkle sesame seed oil mixture  over seeds and stir until evenly coated.
