So when one thinks of buying fall decor, they typically don’t think of, ” thrifted fall decor” to display around their home. Okay, okay I am the exception as I’m sure some of you are as well! However there are some that may gasp at the thought of buying thrifted fall decor. I was recently asked, ” Where do you shop? I need help buying fall decor for my table, can you help?”. Well truthfully that could be a long list of answers … As I shop in many different places; however nothing comes close to shopping at my favorite  thrift store, along with antique and barn house shops. Those places are hands down my favorite for finding items with original character that tell stories just by looking at them! Ahh I can sit in awe and daze off at the sheer beauty of items in these places… Like the one time, okay I’ll save that for another blog. Getting. Back. On. Subject. My favorite thrift store is my local goodwill, they definitely know me! Not only are there tons of hidden treasures every time I go, but the staff are super! See I truly believe the saying, ” one mans junk, is another mans treasure”. Yes indeed it is! I’m often overwhelmed with excitement and amazement to see items one is willing to part with. Although I’m not complaining, Ahmm because that just means I’ve officially scored another awesome find!! Recently I went on the hunt for ” fall thrifted items” I found the cutest variations of itmes such as- pine cones, pine cone balls, porcelain milk jugs, miniature grapevine wreaths, straw angels… list goes on! Anyhow I decided to utilize my recent finds as some of my ” key fall itmes”. I meshed both new and thrifted itmes to create the beginning part of my fall tablescape. I say “beginning  part” because I’m certain it will change between now and oh next week!:) So going  back to what I answered her, which was a quick – ” heck yes I can help!”. I told her one of the stores she must stop at is a thrift store, I got that weird “say what look!!”. I said, “yup, you heard correctly!”. See just because they’re thrifted itmes doesn’t mean they can’t become your ” key pieces”. You’ll be surprised at the itmes you WILL find. I showed her an example of some of my thrifted fall items, needless to say she gasped with amazement and couldn’t believe some of the itmes that made up my fall tablescape were thrifted. So next time you are in search of seasonal decor, don’t forget to stop by your local thrift store!
